Terms of Service — BellCrier

Operated by Goal Prevail LLC (Delaware, USA)

Last updated: 28 September 2026
Effective date: 28 September 2026

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. THEY INCLUDE A REQUIRED INFORMAL DISPUTE PROCESS (SECTION 16), A CLASS‑ACTION AND JURY‑TRIAL WAIVER (SECTION 16), DISCLAIMERS OF WARRANTIES (SECTION 13), AND A LIMITATION OF LIABILITY (SECTION 14). BY CREATING AN ACCOUNT OR USING THE SERVICE YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms“) are a binding agreement between you (“you“) and Goal Prevail LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“Goal Prevail,” “we,” “us,” “our“). They govern your use of https://bellcrier.com, its subdomains and tools, and the BellCrier breach‑monitoring and notification service (together, the “Service“).

By creating an account, ticking an “I agree” box, making a payment, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You agree to receive communications from us electronically (account, verification, breach‑alert, billing, security, and legal notices), and that electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement for a communication to be in writing.

2. Definitions

  • Account — your registered BellCrier account.
  • Breach Data — information exposed in third‑party security incidents that is already circulating and that we look up through third‑party providers.
  • Free Check — the limited email check offered on our homepage and at events without an account.
  • Masked Data — a partly hidden value (for example pa******) shown so you can recognize what to change, without us storing the full value.
  • Merchant of Record — Freemius, which sells subscriptions on our behalf and handles payments, taxes, and payment‑related support.
  • Monitored Email — an email address you added and verified for monitoring.

3. Eligibility and account

3.1 Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You must not be barred from using the Service under applicable law, and you must not be located in, or be a national or resident of, a country or region subject to comprehensive US, EU, UK, or UN sanctions, nor be on any restricted‑party list.

3.2 Sign‑in. BellCrier uses passwordless “magic‑link” sign‑in: you request a one‑time link sent to your account email and click it to sign in. You are responsible for keeping control of your email inbox and for all activity under your Account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. If you lose access to your account email, contact us; before changing the email on an Account we may ask you to prove the Account is yours. We will never ask you for a password or payment details by email; payment details are entered only in the Freemius checkout.

3.3 Accuracy. You agree to give accurate information and keep it current.

3.4 One account; no sharing. Unless we agree in writing, you may hold one Account, and you may not sell, transfer, or share it.

4. The Service — what it is and is not

4.1 What it does. BellCrier lets you verify ownership of email addresses, find out whether they appear in known third‑party breaches, see masked details of those exposures, receive alerts when new exposures are found, get guidance and password‑reset links, and mark items “resolved” to manage notifications. We also offer free tools (a password generator that runs in your browser, a k‑anonymity password checker, and a browser‑fingerprint awareness tool) and the Free Check.

4.2 What it is NOT. The Service is not: a data broker; a hacking or data‑extraction tool; the source of any breach; identity‑theft protection, insurance, or credit monitoring; a data‑removal service; a public breach search engine; a consumer reporting agency; or a provider of legal, financial, or professional advice. It does not prevent breaches, recover accounts or money, or guarantee that every breach affecting you will be found.

4.3 Masking. Sensitive values returned by providers are masked before they reach our website database (for example pa******). While a breach is active in your Account, the masked values stay visible so you can act on them. When you mark a breach “resolved,” we erase those masked values and keep only the labels, source, date, and your resolved status. We do not keep raw, unmasked provider responses on the website.

4.4 Sources and limits. Breach information comes from third‑party providers and datasets. It may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or wrongly linked to you, and there may be delays between a breach happening, it becoming known, and our detecting it. “No breaches found” means only that your email was not found in the sources we checked — not that you have never been exposed.

4.5 How often we check, and how alerts reach you. We check an address when you add it and then again on a regular schedule. How often we check, which sources we use, and which features we offer may change over time to keep the Service reliable, and we don’t promise that a check runs at any particular time or interval. Alerts are sent by email (and, if you opt in, a sign‑in “ping” on a messaging channel). Email delivery depends on your email provider and settings: messages can be delayed, filtered as spam, or blocked. You are responsible for keeping your account email working, for checking your spam folder, and for adding our sending address to your contacts. Your dashboard always shows your current results, whether or not an email arrived.

4.6 Free Check. The Free Check shows a limited preview: the number of breaches found and up to three site names. Sensitive site names are never shown in the preview. You may use the Free Check only for your own email address or one you are authorized to check. We may limit, change, or stop the Free Check at any time, including per‑email and per‑device limits.

4.7 Changes to the Service. We may add, change, or remove features. If we permanently discontinue the paid Service as a whole, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid subscription period.

5. Email‑ownership verification (important)

5.1 You must verify each address. Before any full breach results for an email address become visible, you must verify that you own it or are authorized to monitor it, by clicking the confirmation link we email to that address. This protects people from being watched without their knowledge and keeps the Service lawful.

5.2 Your promises. By verifying an address, you confirm that you own it, or that you have clear permission from its owner to monitor it, and that your monitoring is lawful where you live and not for any harassing, stalking, surveillance, or other unlawful purpose.

5.3 Family and other addresses. Some plans let you monitor several addresses, for example your family’s. Every address must be verified through the link we send to it, so it can only be added if someone with access to that inbox confirms it. That email tells the owner which BellCrier account asked (by showing its email address), and nothing is monitored unless they confirm. You are responsible for having the permission of the person the address belongs to (or, for a child, being their parent or guardian, or for a work address, your organization’s).

5.4 Addresses you no longer control. If you stop owning or controlling a monitored address (for example, you leave a job or close a mailbox), remove it from your Account.

5.5 False verification. If you verify an address you do not own or are not authorized to monitor, we may immediately suspend or terminate your Account without refund, ban you, report the activity to the authorities, and pursue available remedies, and you will be responsible for resulting claims (see Section 15). We log verification events to enforce this.

6. Subscriptions, trials, and payments

6.1 Plans. The Service is offered by subscription. Your plan sets how many email addresses you may monitor in total, including your main account email. Current prices are shown on our pricing page and at checkout. Applicable taxes (for example sales tax or VAT) are calculated by Freemius and shown at checkout.

6.2 Free trial. New customers may get a free trial (currently 7 days) that gives full access to results. You need to give a payment method to start the trial, and the trial starts when you sign up at checkout. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts automatically and you are charged the price shown at checkout. One trial per person, household, and payment method. Trial abuse (for example multiple trials or fake accounts) may lead to termination.

6.3 Payments through Freemius. All payments are processed by Freemius, our Merchant of Record, which handles billing, taxes (sales tax, VAT, GST), stored payment methods, and refunds. We do not receive or store your full card details. Your purchase is also subject to Freemius’s buyer terms and privacy policy.

6.4 Automatic renewal and cancellation. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly, as you chose) at the then‑current price until you cancel. You can cancel online at any time from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you keep access until then. To avoid the next charge, cancel before the renewal date. If a renewal payment fails, Freemius may retry it for a short time; if it still cannot be collected, your subscription ends and monitoring stops. We email you a reminder once a year with what you pay, how often, and how to cancel; for yearly plans it arrives about 30 days before the renewal.

6.5 Refunds — 14‑day money‑back guarantee.

  • New subscriptions: if you are not happy for any reason, ask within 14 days of the first payment for your subscription and we will refund it in full, no questions asked.
  • Yearly renewals: if you forgot to cancel, ask within 14 days of a yearly renewal charge and we will refund it and cancel the subscription.
  • Billing errors: if you were charged after properly cancelling, charged twice, or a verified fault on our side kept you from using the Service, we will refund the affected charge.
  • Monthly renewals are otherwise non‑refundable. Where the law gives you a right to a refund, we honor it.

Refunds are issued through Freemius to the original payment method, and a refunded subscription ends immediately. We may refuse repeated refund requests from the same person (for example, subscribing and refunding over and over), and we may close Accounts used to abuse the guarantee.

6.6 EU/UK consumers — right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you normally have a 14‑day right to withdraw from a digital‑services contract. By starting to use the paid Service within that period, you expressly ask us to begin immediately. If you withdraw during the period, you may owe a proportionate amount for the service already provided. In practice, the 14‑day money‑back guarantee in Section 6.5 gives you at least the same protection. This does not affect your other statutory rights.

6.7 Price changes. We may change prices. Changes apply from your next renewal. We will email you about a price increase before it takes effect — at least 7 days before, and normally about 30 days before. If you do not agree, cancel before the change takes effect.

6.8 Chargebacks. Please contact us before starting a chargeback — we resolve most billing problems quickly, including with a refund where Section 6.5 applies. Chargebacks filed without contacting us first may lead to suspension of your Account.

7. Free tools

The password generator, password checker, browser‑fingerprint tool, and Free Check are provided free, “as is,” for information and education only, with no promise of accuracy or availability, and are not security advice. The password generator and fingerprint tool run in your browser. The password checker sends only a partial (5‑character) hash prefix of your password, never the password itself. The fingerprint tool contacts third‑party IP services only if you turn that option on.

8. Acceptable use and prohibited conduct

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes related to your own (or properly authorized) security. You will not:

  • verify, monitor, or run Free Checks on email addresses you do not own or are not authorized to check;
  • use the Service or any Breach Data to stalk, harass, watch, deceive, defraud, discriminate against, or harm any person, or for phishing, credential stuffing, account takeover, spam, or social engineering;
  • use the Service or its results to decide anyone’s eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, or any other purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act or similar laws, or for background checks or people searches;
  • try to access, decrypt, or rebuild unmasked Breach Data, or another user’s Account;
  • scrape, harvest, or build a database from the Service, or resell, redistribute, or publish Breach Data;
  • probe, scan, or test the security of the Service, interfere with it, introduce malware, or attempt a denial of service;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or try to derive source code, except where the law does not allow this restriction;
  • use bots, scrapers, or other automated means, except through documented interfaces within permitted limits;
  • bypass or manipulate verification, rate limits, bot checks, or other controls;
  • impersonate anyone, give false information, or infringe anyone’s rights; or
  • use the Service where doing so is unlawful.

We may investigate suspected violations and, at our discretion, warn, suspend, or terminate Accounts without refund, and report serious violations to the authorities. If you find a security vulnerability, report it to us privately rather than exploiting it.

9. Intellectual property

The Service and all its software, design, text, graphics, and branding are owned by Goal Prevail or its licensors and are protected by law. Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, personal, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own lawful security purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, frame, sublicense, or create derivative works from the Service, or use it to build a competing product. “BellCrier,” “Goal Prevail,” and our logos are our trademarks; do not use them without permission. If you send us feedback, you give us a perpetual, royalty‑free license to use it without obligation to you. To report claimed copyright infringement, contact us with the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3).

10. Breach Data — important disclaimers

Breach Data comes from third parties and already exists. It was exposed when other companies were breached; it was not created, collected, hacked, or stolen by us, it exists whether or not you use the Service, and it may already be in the hands of bad actors. We are the messenger, not the source.

You understand and agree that:

  • we provide Breach Data “as is,” with no promise that it is accurate, complete, or timely, or that it actually relates to you;
  • we cannot remove your data from the internet or third‑party sources, undo breaches, prevent future breaches, or stop bad actors;
  • you are responsible for acting on alerts — changing affected passwords, turning on two‑factor authentication, watching your accounts, and getting professional help where appropriate;
  • the “resolved” flag is for your own tracking: it stops re‑notifying you and erases the masked values we stored, but it does not remove data from other sources or guarantee your safety;
  • we are not a consumer reporting agency, and Breach Data is not a consumer report.

Company names. When we name a company in a breach result, list, or ticker, we do so only to describe an incident that has been publicly reported or that appears in our sources. It is not a statement about the company’s conduct or fault, and company names and marks belong to their owners, who do not endorse or sponsor BellCrier. If you represent a company and believe a listing is inaccurate, contact us and we will review and, where appropriate, correct it.

11. Third‑party services

The Service relies on and links to third parties, including Freemius (payments), breach‑data providers, email‑delivery providers, Cloudflare, messaging platforms you choose to connect, and password‑reset pages of breached services. We do not control and are not responsible for third‑party services, content, availability, or practices. Your dealings with them are between you and them and may be governed by their own terms.

12. Termination

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Once you have no active subscription or trial and the period you paid for has ended, you can close your Account yourself from the Account tab of your dashboard. You can also ask us through our contact form or at [email protected], and we will close it within 30 days of confirming the request comes from you. Closing your Account is permanent: it removes your monitored emails from monitoring, deletes your Account’s breach records and additional emails, and stops notifications. If we close an Account at your request while a subscription is still running, we also cancel that subscription through Freemius. We may suspend or terminate your Account, with or without notice, for breach of these Terms, prohibited conduct, a legal requirement, non‑payment, fraud or abuse, or risk to the Service or others. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 19) survive. After termination we delete your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, except records we must keep by law.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE, SITE, TOOLS, FREE CHECK, AND BREACH DATA ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON‑INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR‑FREE; THAT BREACH DATA WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE; THAT WE WILL DETECT ALL BREACHES OR DETECT THEM BY ANY PARTICULAR TIME; THAT ALERTS WILL BE DELIVERED OR RECEIVED; OR THAT USING THE SERVICE WILL PREVENT IDENTITY THEFT, FRAUD, OR ANY HARM. FEATURES LABELED BETA, PREVIEW, OR FREE ARE PROVIDED WITHOUT ANY COMMITMENT. NOTHING IN THE SERVICE IS LEGAL, FINANCIAL, OR PROFESSIONAL ADVICE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU, AND YOU MAY HAVE STATUTORY RIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE WAIVED.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GOAL PREVAIL AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, OR FOR IDENTITY THEFT, FRAUD, OR FINANCIAL LOSS CAUSED BY THIRD‑PARTY BREACHES OR BAD ACTORS, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (b) USD $100.

If you are unhappy with the Service, your sole remedy is to stop using it and cancel your subscription, and to request a refund where Section 6.5 applies.

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, where applicable, liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct), and nothing here affects consumer rights that cannot be waived. You agree that these limits are a fair allocation of risk and are reflected in the price of the Service.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Goal Prevail and its owners, officers, employees, agents, and suppliers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees arising from: your use of the Service; your violation of these Terms or any law; your violation of anyone else’s rights; your monitoring or checking of email addresses you do not own or are not authorized to check; any use of Breach Data for a purpose prohibited in Section 8; and any claim that we “hacked,” stole, or unlawfully obtained data because of your use of the Service. We may take over the defense of any matter covered by this section, and you will cooperate with us.

16. Resolving disputes

16.1 Talk to us first (required). Most problems are solved quickly, often with a refund. Before starting any court case, you must send us a written Notice of Dispute through our contact form or to [email protected], including your name, account email, a description of the problem, and what you want. We will try in good faith to resolve it with you within 60 days of receiving the notice. Neither of us may start a court case (other than in small‑claims court) until that period ends. Any time limit for bringing your claim is paused during this period.

16.2 Small‑claims court. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small‑claims court if it qualifies and stays there.

16.3 Other disputes — courts. Any dispute not resolved under 16.1 or in small‑claims court will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, USA (see Section 17), except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to sue in your local courts.

16.4 Class‑action and jury‑trial waiver. To the extent permitted by law, disputes will be brought only on an individual basis and not as a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action, and you and we each waive any right to a jury trial. If this waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim will proceed in court without a jury and the rest of this Section still applies.

16.5 EU/UK consumers. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, mandatory local consumer law and courts may apply, and the venue and class‑waiver provisions may not apply to you. Nothing here removes protections that cannot be waived.

17. Governing law; venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict‑of‑laws rules, and excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Subject to Section 16, the state and federal courts located in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction, and you consent to venue there — except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to your local courts. To the extent permitted by law, any claim must be brought within one (1) year after it arises.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give notice (for example by email or a notice on the Site) and update the “Last updated” date; material changes take effect no sooner than 30 days after notice. For people who sign up after a change is posted, the new version applies from the day they accept it. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them. If you disagree, stop using the Service and cancel before the effective date.

19. General

19.1 Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service and replace any prior agreements.

19.2 Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest stays in effect.

19.3 No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver.

19.4 Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them (for example in a merger or sale of assets).

19.5 Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of our providers or email systems.

19.6 Availability. We may choose not to offer the Service, or some features, in certain countries or regions.

19.7 No third‑party beneficiaries, except that our suppliers and affiliates may enforce the disclaimers, limitations, and indemnities that benefit them.

19.8 Export and sanctions. You confirm that you are not subject to sanctions and will comply with applicable export‑control and sanctions laws.

19.9 Relationship. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, agency, fiduciary, or employment relationship between you and us.

19.10 Electronic agreement. Ticking an agreement box, clicking a button that says you agree, or using the Service after notice is your electronic signature and has the same effect as a signed paper agreement.

19.11 Interpretation. “Including” means “including without limitation.” Headings are for convenience only. If we translate these Terms, the English version controls.

19.12 Order of precedence. If these Terms conflict with Freemius’s buyer terms about payments, taxes, or refunds, the term that is more favorable to you applies. Our Affiliate Program Terms apply only to affiliates, in addition to these Terms.

19.13 Honest reviews. Nothing in these Terms limits your right to share honest reviews or opinions about BellCrier.

19.14 Notices. We may give you notice by email or through the Service; an email notice counts as received when we send it to your account email. You can give notice to us through our contact form, at [email protected], or by mail to 254 Chapman Rd, Ste 208, Newark, Delaware 19702, USA.

20. Notices for residents of certain US states

California. Under California Civil Code § 1789.3, California users are entitled to this notice: the Service is provided by Goal Prevail LLC, 254 Chapman Rd, Ste 208, Newark, Delaware 19702, USA. Charges are shown at checkout. To resolve a complaint, contact us as described in Section 21. You may also contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (916) 445‑1254 or (800) 952‑5210.

New Jersey. If any provision of Sections 13 (Disclaimer of warranties), 14 (Limitation of liability), 15 (Indemnification), or 16.4 (Class‑action and jury‑trial waiver) is held unenforceable, void, or inapplicable under New Jersey law, that provision will not apply to you, but the rest of these Terms will remain binding.
