These Affiliate Program Terms (“Affiliate Terms“) are an agreement between you (“Affiliate,” “you“) and Goal Prevail LLC, operator of BellCrier (“we,” “us“). They apply in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By applying to or taking part in the program, you agree to them.

1. Joining the program

1.1 Application. Participation is by invitation or application, and we approve affiliates at our discretion. You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract, and you must not be subject to sanctions.

1.2 Tracking platform. Referral links, tracking, and commission records are provided through the Freemius affiliate platform. Freemius’s affiliate platform terms also apply to your use of it. Freemius is a platform provider only and is not a party to this agreement. Freemius also shows standard referral program terms for our product; where they differ from these Affiliate Terms (for example the minimum payout or notice period), these Affiliate Terms apply, as Freemius’s own terms allow.

1.3 Accurate details. Keep your contact, website, and payout details accurate. We are not responsible for payments sent to details you gave us.

2. Commissions

2.1 Rate. You earn 20% of what each new customer you refer pays: on their first payment, and on their renewals for the first 12 months of their subscription. Commission is calculated on the price paid after any discounts or coupons and excluding taxes; refunded and charged‑back amounts (and chargeback fees) are deducted. This matches how the Freemius affiliate dashboard calculates it.

2.2 What counts as a referral. A referral is a new customer who clicks your referral link and buys a paid subscription within 60 days, in the same browser, while the tracking cookie is present. If a customer clicks several affiliates’ links, the last click gets the credit. No commission is due on:

  • free trials that do not convert to a paid subscription;
  • purchases by you, your household, or accounts you control (self‑referrals);
  • customers who were already BellCrier customers;
  • purchases that are refunded or charged back (see 2.3);
  • referrals obtained in breach of these Affiliate Terms.

2.3 Refunds and chargebacks. Commissions are held for 30 days after each payment so that refunds under our money‑back guarantee can clear. A commission on a payment that is later refunded or charged back is cancelled; if it was already paid, we deduct it from your next payouts.

2.4 Records. Our and Freemius’s tracking records decide whether a commission is due. If you think a referral was missed, tell us within 30 days of the purchase.

2.5 Changes. We may change commission rates or these Affiliate Terms with 30 days’ notice by email. Changes do not reduce commissions already earned.

3. Payouts

3.1 Schedule. We pay approved commissions monthly, once your balance of cleared commissions reaches at least $50, by PayPal (or another method we agree on). Balances below the minimum roll over to the next month.

3.2 Tax forms. Before your first payout you must give us a completed IRS Form W‑9 (US persons) or W‑8BEN / W‑8BEN‑E (non‑US persons). Send it only through the secure method we give you, never by ordinary email or chat, because it contains your tax ID number. We may hold payouts until we receive a valid form, withhold tax where the law requires, and issue tax forms as the law requires.

3.3 Your taxes. You are responsible for all taxes on your commissions. Payouts are made in US dollars; any currency conversion or payment fees charged by your payment provider are yours.

3.4 Payout holds. We may hold payouts while we look into suspected fraud, invalid traffic, or a breach of these Affiliate Terms. We will tell you why and release what is owed once the review is finished.

4. How you may promote BellCrier

4.1 Disclose the relationship. In every post, video, email, or page that includes your link or promotes BellCrier, clearly disclose that you earn a commission, in plain words close to the link or recommendation (for example “I earn a commission if you sign up through my link” or “Paid link”). A disclosure hidden in a profile, a “links” page, or only in hashtags is not enough. This is required by the US Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides and similar laws elsewhere. If you have a privacy or cookie notice, it must also say that your affiliate links place a referral cookie (the Freemius referral terms require this).

4.2 Only honest, approved claims. Describe BellCrier accurately and only in line with our website and the messaging kit we provide. You must not say or suggest that BellCrier:

  • guarantees protection, prevents identity theft or fraud, or finds every breach;
  • monitors “24/7,” “in real time,” or sends “instant” alerts;
  • removes data from the internet, the dark web, or data brokers;
  • is insurance, credit monitoring, or identity‑theft protection;
  • is endorsed by, affiliated with, or approved by any company, government agency, or Have I Been Pwned;
  • offers prices, discounts, trials, or refunds other than those on our website.

Do not use fear tactics or false urgency, invent statistics, or claim personal results you did not have. If you describe your own experience, it must be true.

4.3 Prohibited methods. You must not:

  • send unsolicited email, SMS, or direct messages (spam), or buy or use email lists;
  • bid on “BellCrier” or confusingly similar terms in search or social ads, or run paid ads that send traffic directly to our site, unless we approve it in writing;
  • register domains, social accounts, or app names that contain “BellCrier” or are confusingly similar;
  • impersonate BellCrier, or create pages or ads that look like they come from us;
  • use cookie stuffing, forced clicks, pop‑unders, browser extensions, or any method that sets our cookie without a real click;
  • list coupons, deals, or cashback, or pay or reward people to sign up, unless we approve it in writing;
  • post fake reviews or ratings, or share commissions with customers;
  • promote on sites or channels with illegal, hateful, adult, or pirated content;
  • use our program to target people under 18;
  • run a free check on anyone else’s email address, or show anyone’s breach results in your content;
  • recruit sub‑affiliates or let anyone else promote BellCrier with your link or on your behalf.

4.4 Brand use. We give you a limited, revocable, non‑exclusive license to use the BellCrier name, logo, and materials from our messaging kit only to promote BellCrier under these Affiliate Terms. Do not change our logo or materials. All goodwill belongs to us. You must stop using them when you leave the program.

4.5 Monitoring. We may review your promotions and ask you to correct or remove content. You must do so within 48 hours of our request. On request, you will also tell us where your traffic comes from (for example which sites, channels, or ads).

4.6 Follow the law. Follow all laws that apply to your promotions, including advertising, consumer‑protection, spam, privacy, and cookie laws, and the rules of every platform you use.

5. Customer data

You will not receive customers’ personal data, and you must not try to get it. You may see only the aggregate figures shown in your affiliate dashboard (for example clicks, sign‑ups, and commissions). If you collect personal data yourself (for example your own newsletter), you are responsible for handling it lawfully.

Your data. To run the program we process your name, email, website or channels, payout details, tax forms, and referral statistics from Freemius, as described in our Privacy Policy (Section 3.7).

6. Term and termination

Either of us may end your participation with 7 days’ notice by email. If you breach these Affiliate Terms, we may end it immediately, and you forfeit unpaid commissions connected with the breach (and any commissions earned by fraud). Otherwise, we pay cleared commissions earned up to the termination date in the next payout cycle. Sections 2.3, 3, 5, 7, 8, and 9 survive termination.

7. Independent relationship

You are an independent contractor. Nothing in these Affiliate Terms creates an employment, partnership, joint‑venture, franchise, or agency relationship, and you may not make promises or contracts on our behalf. The program is non‑exclusive: you may promote other products, and we may work with other affiliates. You confirm that you are free to enter into these Affiliate Terms and that the content you publish is yours or properly licensed.

8. Liability and indemnity

8.1 The program, tracking, and dashboard are provided “as is.” We do not promise any level of earnings, and we are not liable for tracking failures, cookie blocking, or outages of our providers.

8.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you under these Affiliate Terms is limited to the commissions due to you for the 6 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

8.3 You will indemnify and defend us against any claims, fines, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your promotions, your breach of these Affiliate Terms, or your violation of any law, including advertising, consumer‑protection, spam, and privacy laws.

9. General

These Affiliate Terms are governed by Delaware law, and the dispute process in Section 16 of our Terms of Service applies to them. They, together with our Terms of Service, are the entire agreement about the program. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. You may not assign these Affiliate Terms. Keep any non‑public information we share with you (for example custom commission rates or unreleased features) confidential. Notices to you go to your affiliate email address; notices to us go through our contact form or to [email protected].
